Help! Want to load backup save from MSCEditor!!!

hi so i accidently left my game on overnight and it killed me, i was literally waiting for the second part of the rally race and so i must know, how do i load up my backed up saves so that i dont have to start over (permadeath on). i have already renamed the backup i want to use as defaultES2File.txt but for some reason when i go to load up the game it still forces me to create a new game... i just want to finish the rally damnit! anyone know how to install the correct save?

Remember to rename the file extension too

so it looks something like this right now defaultES2File.txt and the file type says it is a text document... am i missing some step however?
edit: i got it to work im back to saturday and not dead, i just have to retry the rally ty!

Did you accidently rename it to defaultES2File.txt.txt (with the second .txt being hidden by Windows by default?).
What do other Text files look like? Does it for example say "Items" or "Items.txt"?

you were correct i had named it defaultes2file.txt.txt because of the hidden text, once i took the extra txt out the game loaded my save file with no issue, thanks.
