Why does the game use OpenGL instead of something more advanced like DirectX?
It would improve performance quite a bit and i don't think it would be that hard, with Unity, to change to a newer API

Saying that it's more advanced is a bit of a stretch considering that OpenGL runs on [almost] anything whereas Dx does not(except by emulation through OpenGL, but that's out of the scope here).

MSC does support Dx. It's the default option for Unity3D currently. Though I believe you can set a launch option to force DirectX in the event this isn't the case.

IIRC, for Linux compatibility.

I know that openGL can run on a lot more hardware than directx, it's just that I have bad experience, performance wise, with openGL, and I usually pick the latest DirectX supported, or even Vulcan if i have the choice. Thanks for the info
