Stuck in the dark

I turned off the light in my house and it's pitch black right now so I can't see anything. Is there anything I can do other then dying and respawning without losing my progress I made since the last save?

So I accidentaly found my bed went to sleep, and when I woke up my house was on fire becuse I lit a cigarett in the dark apperantly. So about 5 hours of progress is gone, because of the ridiculous darkness of the game...

Haha. Be prepared for that is gonna happen alot.
But you can turn permadeath off.

Yeah I exected a lot of headaches from this game but I didn't see this coming.
Actually this was my second try and permadeath was off but my house is burned down so I guess I'm starting a new game since there is no repair for that as far as I can tell. And I just finised assembling the engine... :/

there is a lnatern at the island cottage. realy good. also i leave a light all the time cos of this.
and always keep a fire extinguisher close by. they are cheap and i always keep 1 near the souna

I'm just waiting for the day that lantern burns the house down. But until then I have it by my bed and light it before sleeping in case I wake up at night.

Before I thought of that, I was using the bedroom light (the hall light I assume uses more power).

you know you can fix it is the msc VERY easy and i know it's not really legit but just so yuo know :)

you can fix on msc editor or the lantern on island

I just keep the hallway and garage lights on 24/7. Even that's pretty unnecessary though, since I generally sleep at night.

This is a very easy fix, this is how I did it: Download MSCeditor (tutorials on youtube) and search "light" in the search helper. Find: houselightswitchwc" and switch it to true. save it and when u log in, the light is on. enjoy

Sometimes you just gotta feel around in the dark looking for that darn light switch.

There is a mod out there that puts red lights unter the light switches so you can find them in the dark. If you won't use mods deal with the game mechanics (sorry).
