H-Shifter problem

I've been trying to get my Logitech G29 to work with the pedals and H-shifter. Both the wheel and the pedals work fine, but whenever I try to set up the H-shifter positions for each gear, the game seems to struggle to determine which gear im trying to use e.g. Shift it into 3rd gear but the game thinks i'm putting it in 1st, overriding my initial assignment for 1st gear . This is on the options menu that it's doing this as im trying to assign controls. This problem has never occured with any of my other racing games so i doubt it's a problem with my H-shifter.

As a current G29 owner with the included Shifter, I was able to assign all 7 slots just fine in-game without any trouble. While I don't doubt that it's not a problem with your shifter, it's definitely not a problem with the game.

yeah i've noticed nobody else has seemed to have this problem, who knows maybe it is my shifter.

Do u have H-shifter setting enabled in the game?

Have u pressed "Calibrate"-button in car controls menu?

Maybe download whole game again (take copy of the save game if u dont want to lose it)

I don't think it's hardware or driver issue because as u said shifter works without issues in other driving games (can u specify the games where it works).
If there was issue in the shifter then it would show up already in the logitech profiler if u test gears there.

When u start this game it goes first to start up-menu where u have resolution options etc, that menu has some control-settings too, maybe u need to change something there.

I'm no sure about this but check steam -> settings -> controller (try with generic controller disabled or enabled or if u see your wheel there then try setting it up).

I use to play with my Logi wheel and shifter no problem, but now after not playing for a while, when I assign gears it only recognizes button 16 and button 15. 1st 3rd and 5th always take button 15 and 2nd 4th 6th and reverse take button 16. very frustrating because it worked fine in the past and works fine on every other racing game I have.
