1) Mix desired amount of water with desired amount of sugar (the games' recipe is quite correct, I'd go with about 5,5kg of sugar per 30 litres)
2) Add yeast, if you can get your hands on some wine yeast or turbo yeast use that, but even baking yeast will do the trick, it'll just be a bit weaker.
3) Let it brew for about 14 days or whenever it's ready.
The exact ratio of sugar, water and yeast is not that important, you can experiment with that. Even a tiny bit of yeast will do, it'll just take longer. The amount of sugar will determine the alcohol content, but if you go way overboard with it it'll kill the yeast and if there's a bit too much your kilju will just be a bit sweeter. Most yeasts die in about 11-13% alcohol by volume, some can stand up to 19%.
What's really important is that the vessel is clean and you use a brewing airlock. If you don't have one, you can make by having a tube from the brewing vessel go out into a bottle with some water in it. The point is to let CO2 (which the yeast produces as it ferments the sugar into alcohol) get out, while not allowing air to get in (oxygen itself tends to turn ethanol into vinegar, which is not what we want, plus there's a higher chance of bacterial contamination)
After the product is done brewing, I suggest you siphon it at least once to get rid of the yeast and its' byproducts. Those tend to interact quite badly with ones intestines, resulting in diarrhoea.
Hope this helped, if there's more questions feel free to ask. Enjoy well cooled :D
And kids, don't try this at home. Your parents will notice when your room starts to smell like a bakery.
EDIT: And yes, some methanol will be produced like with any fermented drinks, however the amount is small enough compared to the ethanol content that you don't need to worry about it unless you plan to distill the product.
If the end product tastes like crap don't be too concerned, it's supposed to be like that. You don't drink it for the flavour :D
