You've gotten all the info needed to fix the issue. There is no need for your soul to hurt.
As the above post mentions your cam may not still be aligned properly, even a 5-10° incorrect setting can destroy your top end.
Also, don't use MSCEditor for stuff like this, replace it yourself via Fleetari's parts shelf for less bugs :)
I was hoping that he'd eventually figure it out for himself. If we keep spoonfeeding people who should really know better, they'll never learn. The correct solution would be to replace the rockers at Fleetari's, now he's just gonna use MSCeditor to fix it and won't learn anything.
Also, I assumed it wouldn't be that the rocker is broken since it's not been used yet, but y'know.
The cat is out of the bag, so here goes: I'm guessing that you started the car with the cam unaligned, broke your rocker, read the changelog, aligned the cam, couldn't get the car started, looked at the wear value in MSCeditor and didn't know what to do. Most parts have two failure modes, "damaged" and "wear". IIRC it's completely possible for a brand new (no wear whatsoever) part to not work if it's been broken in some way (aka status set to damaged)
Take comfort in the fact that you're not the first one, and that you didn't whine about it like most people do. Most of the people who create whine topics use the editor like it's the only way to play the game and end up seriously screwing up their save at worst, or with some very funky Satsuma failure states at best. The editor is kinda clunky, quite outdated and pretty obtuse. Use sparingly unless you know what you're doing.
No worries.
