Are u saying it can't be more than 1080p even on a 1440p or 4K/2160p display or that's max what menu-option gives you?

Go to Manage 3D Settings.
Under Global Settings find the DSR settings.
Choose the DSR Factor (I think you'll just want 4x).
Then all 3D apps will offer that or those resolutions as well as your native resolution. I'm not sure what DSR Smoothness does.
DSR can improve image quality during gameplay as well as screenshots, we VR users use a similar function a lot and it makes a big difference.
I'm sure AMD users will have a similar feature.
