Can't find van

I cannot find the van. I started a new game, and saw that the van wasn't at uncle's house so I thought that maybe I have to wait a certain amount of time before it spawns. So far I've had enough time to build the entire engine(except for the spark plugs and belt), drive halfway to town in the forklift. After that i waited about two in-game days, and the van is still not there. I've tried knocking on the door to see if maybe that's how you get it to spawn, but nothing works. I've even tried to restart the game.

That van spawns randomly outside uncles house. When it is outside, uncle is home. Then you knock on his door to get the keys.

Uncle spawns at random. You may go weeks in game or you may go just days. Completely random. The only part that isn’t random is that you have to have a certain amount of game experience for him to spawn at all. I believe you have to built the car till it functions even if its just with the old tired parts in the garage.

I was 10 days in game before i got it, but Topless set the spawn times randomly. But, yes, it can take some time ingame to get him. Just keep playing and keep an eye out on uncles house.

Nope
I never touched a single car part - he showed up after 2 weeks.

As an experiment, I just stole the Ruscko, grabbed the kilju bucket from the island and left the car totally alone. Just did the firewood job, sold kilju and ran errands for the grandmother. Ten in-game days later, the blue van showed up in the uncle's driveway.

Apparently, the progress made on the car does not matter at all.

Note: I did, out of habit, grab the tires on the way back from stealing the Ruscko.

He shows up on the weekend for me. Saturday or Sunday, which makes sense as he still has a job at the start :P

Yeah that what happened for me. Once I finished the car he spawned

Topless says it's based on game experience.. I don't think random.
