Kekmet won't change gears

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I've never had this happen before. I can change gears on every other vehicle with the default keys G and B just fine. (Or are the gears 'manually' changed like with the boat?) I can change the gear *range* on the Kekmet but it will absolutely refuse to change gear when in driving mode...

Hi thanks for the response.
I tried this - H-shifter mode was enabled but the Kekmet still will not change gear. I have even reset the driving controls to default with no result.

I changed my Change Up Gear & Change Down Gear to Cursor Up /Down.
The only vehicle this doesn't affect is the boat - use L/R mouse.

Even when I reassign the shift up/down keys to something else it still does not want to change gear I'm afraid. (Could still change the range perfectly fine though)

Do you have auto clutch on or off? If its off you need to use the clutch to change gears.

IT WORKED! (It was off because I've been driving with a new steering wheel I got and been manually shifting with the clutch - Now I'm back to using mouse + keyboard as I have started a new game)
