how to get uncle to spawn

he doesn't show up no matter what I do, I've visited grandma, went to the store with the boat an the log cabin, taken the tractor to teimos and picked up the ruscko etc. Idk why he won't spawn, where is he?

The developer quotes "Play the game like you do not know he can spawn and he will spawn faster than you think"

it took over a week for the uncle to show up in mine but the more i built the car and completed other tasks i got full access to both vehicles pretty quickly, it feels like forever but it eventually happens

Waited 29 days to show up the first time with a further 12 days or so till the second. So what.
Urgently waiting for the mythical vaunted magical game saving van won't solve anything

I believe uncle shows up based on the progression you make at building the car.

I worked around not having a van by using the boat for trips to the shop. Getting supplies takes 1 entire day but on tuesday you can start building the car. I had it running and driving thursday week 1, I did the flyer job on friday and bought Kilju supplies with the money I made

Over the weekend I did the firewood job. On monday week 2 I dropped the car of at Fleetari for new tires and had the car inspected and fully functioning on wednesday week 2.

I never went to see if uncle was there, only after finishing the car and he permanently gave me the keys straight away.

I don't need the van anymore though, I have my car for that.

I can say it's not connected in any way. Did NOTHING with the Satsuma for the first 2 weeks and I had the uncle start appearing with the Van on the second week. Got permanent access by the end of the second week. It's simply random and can take, as far as I know, between 1 up to 3 weeks I think(for the first time you can loan the van).

Uncle showed up in my game at the start of the 3rd week. It was a bit after I sold my second set of kilju and did a second firewood load, but I had only partially assembled the Satsuma. Maybe the progress is related to money earned/spent?

I've been able to borrow the van, but the Gifu hasn't shown up yet. On the wiki it says he'll be sitting outside drinking and you can get the Gifu keys, but I've only ever seen him in his house. Has anyone here played through this? How does this actually play out?

@gulegule, there's a few options

1) the van is outside his house, you have to knock on his door, he opens and gives you the keys for a certain amount of time, aka you're loaning the van.
I'm not sure, but I think at that time you can also use the Gifu truck, which is parked at the sewage treatment plant in Perajarvi

2) the van isn't at his house but he's sitting outside his house drinking beer. When you sit down, he tells you he has been stopped by police while he was drunk and his license got taken away, he permanently gives you the keys to both the van and the Gifu truck. Both are parked in Perajarvi.

3) You loan the van and/or truck and you put the cheap diesel fuel oil (OMP or whatever) in either of the vehicles. Next time you see uncle, he tells you that he got stopped by the police and got fined for using diesel fuel oil on the highway. The fine was so high he had to sell the truck. You've now lost the Gifu truck forever

@Rick, interesting, have you seen those scenarios in game?

So in my game I've spoken to uncle once and he lent me the van keys. I used the van for part of that day and parked it by his house. The van then disappeared for about a day (and uncle didn't answer his door) but then showed up again. I still have the keys, and if I knock on uncle's door he just opens it and coughs, and he never seems to go outside. I'll check if the Gifu is in Perajarvi.

From personal experience with the update it doesn't seem to be connected to money either. I only sold 1 batch of killju and did some basic shopping and the only big thing I ordered was the PC but the payment waited for over a week before I picked it up(at that point I already had the van and gifu permanently so cash got spent only after I got access).

They are scenarios I've seen people describe here on the forums, I have personally only encountered scenario #2
