How does the sledgehammer work?

Is there a trick to it? I can hit the car all day but nothing happens. A minor incident with a moose has bent the car body in such a way that the fuel mixture gauge display is completely hidden.

i haven't yet successfully made any visible change to the Satsuma chassis with a sledgehammer but you could use milk, bug spray or a similar small item that travels really far when you throw it to remove dents.

The sledgehammer is pretty much a troll. Just delete your meshsave.txt from your save folder

Yes, delete the meshsave.txt from the save folder. Then load your savegame. It should create a new meshsave.txt. Save and exit the game

Right click Properties on the txt file and check 'read only', then click OK. The car's damage now resets everytime you start the game.

I don't want the car's damage to reset though, I just want to be able to see the gauge :/

yeah this guy isn't asking for cheats guys. like i said, use milk, seriously... throw from a few feet away from what you want to hit, throw milk at it.

You can take it to flee for bodywork damage.
