MUST HAVES (MODS OR NOT)

I see a lot of problems in the discussions concerning lost parts so I decided to make this post.

Whether or not you are into mods or not, everyone should download the MSC EDITOR.
This handy little thing is the master key to almost all parts and even bolts in the game.
It can return those MISSING PARTS to the garage, fast travel/teleport your player out of "STUCK" situations, TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS at once" for those hard to find problems, completely install and uninstall parts, fix STUCK PARTS problems, SAVE THE GAME, work out the occasional random bug, and even more if you are just getting into modding.

Another must have is the ROLL CAGE and the RACING HARNESS AND SEAT. Without them you die from minor accidents. With them installed you can take more of an impact and even hold up to flipping the car.

BEER- BEER is a must. In your car, in the van, the tractor, the house, the garage, EVERYWHERE. It could just save your life (hardcore permadeath goals)

For the Modders- Photoshop and the Nvidia plugin for .dds file editing and saves. Paint.net works great most of the time and I often use it, but there are some layers and parts that WILL NOT show up in paint.net. (EXAMPLE: subwoofer panel)
Find your happy place and BACK UP appdata files, savegame files, AND sharedasset* files. Chances are at some point the game is going to update and leave you with a blank startup screen. OR you might just screw up eventually (this is an early access right?)

what exactly is a "must have" on these things? you dont need msceditor at all,you dont need safety gear at all(if you dont want to compete in suvisprint ofc,dunno whats your deffinition of minor accident but i never died from anything small?),you dont even need a beer,you can drink milk,tapwater,etc and about modding,i agree with pollox,dxtbmp is a great tool

Photoshop is life...
You cant even compare the two besides the fact that they save and open.dds

Must haves are more for the begginers and all the people having issues that could be fixed otherwise but they have no idea what they are doing. Stop with all the negative comments. I'm only trying to help people who are getting frustrated with the game. Doctors heal the sick not the well. If your doing well then move on, there is nothing for you here.

I have 39 hours in the game and have had no reason to use msc so far

you can do this even without msce.

My point is that it is much easier to use the MSC Editor for beginners... I mean come on...just look at some of the stuff people are having problems with.
There are gamers and there are modders. Modders want to unlock the full potential of the game and gamers want to master the original. We need both types of people to have a stable market. lets stop all the negativity and just be there to help eachother.

@creationisalive: i have no problem with modders,im a modder myself,just not of this game for now...my point is msce is rather a advanced cheat engine than a modding tool...i know ppls having a weird problems,sometimes i dont know how they even manage to do such things since nothing of it ever happened to me...playing the game as its supposed to be played and if ♥♥♥♥ goes down already,simply accept consequences is much better advice than going straight into msce...

but thats just my opinion

I hear ya. Its hard to accept those consequences when you spend 2 days building a car and and you end up dying on permadeath...Lost parts gone for good is not something I'm willing to deal with. The game is in its very early stages and you could lose items and saves due to rewrites and updates too so i would rather have full control just in case

well you can allways backup your save,you dont need msce for that
