When I first got this game I disliked several aspects of it...mainly the AI, but a few other things.
I tried to play with permadeath off, and ignoring most of the game just to build the car.
It was a very frustrating experience.
After many restarts and ALOT of frustration I decided to play the game as intended.
Permadeath on, going to store for food n such, peeing on the van tires.....the whole 9 yards!
Did not take long playing like this for all the frustration to melt away into admiration for the game.
I started to notice little subtle things in the game you won't if your only focused on one aspect.
Even the horrible AI is something I have come to love. It is a whole package this game...you try to sample just a bit and it will leave a bad taste. But take it all in together and it just works.
Maybe I am wrong, and the savegame editor would be best for you.....BUT, you owe it to yourself to at least give the entire package a shot. Really stick in there and give it a chance.
