Do Jobs stay active until you complete them ?
So, it was late on the "Monday" when someone phoned up about firewood.

Will that job still be there, even if it's now "Wednesday" ?

Yes. You can check the active jobs from map above the phone.

even if you've had to save and then load the game again ?

Yes,but there is a bug with the firewood job.The dart for it will not save. If you need to know if the firewood job is active,you can drive over to the delivery point and see if the guy is standing outside. If he is you are good to go.
