Headers, Exhaust and muffer. Are they worth it?
Soo, I am wondering, Do headers, exhaust and muffler actually improve performance or just reduce noise?

In a real car, the headers do help, but the exhaust pipe and muffler generally just increase back pressure and reduce performance. Of course, they also reduce a TON of noise.

So I am wondering, has anyone tried drag racing, then removing muffler/exhaust pipe and/or exhaust header, comparing times?

Contrary to popular belief, insufficient backpressure and exhaust resonance can result in insufficient scavenging and reduced power. Though I do have heard that having no muffler helped performance somewhat. I also wouldn't remove the exhaust pipe and header unless you want to ingest a lot of unburnt hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide, but that's not in-game yet.

Yes, they increase power, and sports parts increse power above 6000 rpm. Also when you take off muffler you can add even more power, but this power is added in lower rpm range (form idle rpm for 100%, to... some unknow number, but this is not high... maybe to 4k-5k). Without pipe you lose power, without headers you also lose power. Tested in drag raceing. I do 16.2 time and always start from idle (thats why i know how huge torque can have car without muffler haha, with fd 4.6 you just burn rubber from idle to end hahaha) Also best possible arf is 13.1 (maximum power output), without this dont leave garage :D, tune from up (from 16.2 go down).

Interesting. I always thought it would affect high RPM more (since more RPM = more exhaust flow gas). Good to know that muffler reduces power yet the header and exhaust pipe increase it. When I bought my sports muffler I saw it didn't fit the old exhaust and just left it off. Then with just the new rad and removed seats I hit 160kph with stock gearing :0 New carb and I had to stop before the engine redlined :)
