Can't Lower floor jack?

I have no problem moving it, but if I jack the car up, wait a few minutes, install some parts, etc., then the car slips off the jack, I can no longer lower the jack to move it back under the car. I move my cursor over the handle but no hand appears. Anyone having the same issue or know how to fix it? Saving and reloading seems to work but it's time consuming.

the zone is behind the handle, it's a bit awkward to find. jacking the car up from the sides is better than from the front or back, and the tractor's hydraulic fork is better than everything.
