Creating mods is adding new functions, objects, models etc.
They both require knowledge but first one is easier.
I would suggest to you reading or watching some tutorials on how to mod the games.
Furthermore - if you want to create visual mods then changing custom skin of satsuma will be a good start. It will give you some degree of knowledge on what's it like and how it works
Then decide, if you want to animate it or only use in created form.
Then try to import this model in e.g. uniity and teach yourself how to add some actions for it.
Then, finally, you maybe will be able to lay your hands on MSC code and you might be able, after many failiures and problems, to add such item.
It is scary and long process but hey, once you achieve it doors to the world of programming might open a bit.
Good luck
