I've built quite reliable Satsuma.

My puppy. Runs almost non stop for almost two in game weeks and it never broke down or overheated on me, not even once, not counting lost bumper once. I don't know, am I just lucky? I am driving Satsuma all the time and it just... works. Are there any factors that can speed up breaking down? I do push it to limits sometimes, but nothing too harsh.

Lucky, but unlucky if you like tearing down your engine to fix it on the side of the road. My head gasket went after about a half hour of run time.

My alternator and waterpump were gone in about few hours of driving.

The most relibable Satsuma only has the racing radiator.

I've had no problems with the twin carbs either, unless you count some skidding when starting. A few crashes due to taking corners a bit too fast and the muffler falling off every now and then, but no issues with the engine.

I'd imagine the racing carburettor and especially N2O destroys the engine pretty quickly though.

Maybe it's not luck but just good maintenance. :) My Satsuma has lasted many many weeks with every upgrade except nitros, only had to replace head gasket but it was entirely my own fault (forgot to fill fluids). But finally now it started to lose so much power that I will do complete engine overhaul and after that everything should work again for long time.

Lol yeah I'd say you're lucky. My car hates me.

Just when I get a broken headgasket replaced so that the engine holds oil and get a custom paintjob from fleetari, I start to drive home. Casually and carefully - and suddenly something bangs off and the car comes to a halt. After a good while of figuring out what had broken off, it seemed the rocker shaft had exploded.

No idea why. My fuel ratio was good, all fluids in the car, nothing making noise, the valves set to "7 clicks" and I was driving completely normally without hitting anything.

Bad luck I guess.

Sometimes I have indeed felt like there are only cons for driving the satsuma :D

But I'll keep at it and hope eventually things will be good.

Oh and yeah I do let the engine warm to half of the temp gauge without revving aswell..

Well look at it this way, if the car never broke then the game would be pointlessly boring after you built it

I think its obviously good maintenance and driving the car properly. i've driven my car more than 600km and its holding pretty good. I made sure i do a full service (replacing oil and oil filter and topping up all fluids) I made it a habbit to service the car every 200km. I dont drive it rough. I do cruise and high speeds and rarely drives reckless.

People just don't take care of their stuff it is as simple as that. If you do take care of it you can run it pretty hard.
