The damn Fan Belt

My fan belt keeps either snapping or falling off. it happens while driving, the fan belt will squeek for a few seconds and then it wll stop again, then the Fuel/Air ratio, and engine temps will rise and the battery will slowly die.

this happens everytime i play and it seems aggressive driving makes it snap faster. i drop gently with low revs as possible and i was just able to get it back home and on the drive way when the damn thing snapped on me and now i have no fan belt.

Is there a way i can get a new fanbelt, because i checked the store and there isnt one where the first one is when you first build your car? or is it like if your fan belt snaps, then "get rekt"...

If there is no option to buy at Teimo's, and nothing at the landfill, then you must've lost it somewhere on the road. There is only one instance, so yeah, basically rekt, but you can use msc editor to teleport it to your home/garage.

And apply correct tightness when mounting again, so it won't fall off/snap.

no you have to take the belt of then save and quit then load back in then there should be one at the store

When the Belt snaps, the Belt is broken and should be completely disappeared.
After Save and Quit, the Belt should spawn again.
Yup correct tightness is essential, otherwise it will happen over and over again.

Have you correctly tightened the fan belt? As in rolling out the alternator all the way out and then about 2 clicks back so the belt runs smoothly?

Also did you carefully tighten the alternator screw without moving the alternator accidentally?

I've also had problems with my fan belt lately. It would just squeal like a pig, no matter how tight, and my engine would shut off when the RPM got low enough. I've taken it to Fleetari for a full engine maintenance, and we'll see how that goes. I'm thinking my Alternator is broken?

when it happened the first time, i reloaded save game then checked it out, i adjusted it so that it was one notch behind the squeek point (where it immediatly stops squeeking) and tightended it there. i noticed that if the tension is too high, the beltdoes this weird shaking thing where it seems as though it will jump the pulleys.

I assume my method of tensioning is correct but do enlighten me

someone suggested that i save and load the game and a new one should be at Teimo's. gonna try that next time i load the game. just gonna drive around the area near the store coz it seems to snap half way to the house under normal driving. should snap rather quickly then i can save round back of Teimo's and get a new one yeah???

When I begun my journey with MSC, I did tension it as much as possible. Everybody knows what happened then. I did move it one click, and it was usable but belt snapped quite an often. Now I have moved 2 clicks from full tension and yeah, I've never changed a fan belt after that. With three clicks it begins crying, so that 2 clicks must be the best solution.

Make sure your waterpump and/or alternator are in good condition.

SO i snapped it near the shop, bought a new one, and now i am facecd with the issue where the belt will be on there still, properlly tensioned and all, but it is not moving and the engine begins overheating. what now?

I tried readjusting it but it makes the noise regardless of how tight or lose i make it. it just squeeks and i dunno what ta do. i wanna make the car rally ready so i can practise the route and win but i cant do that if i am always worried of my car breaking

That's what's going on with me, more or less. My fan belt won't be quiet, and my car shuts off when idle. Running it also constantly drains the battery. I've taken it to Fleetari to have the engine repaired, I think it might be a bad alternator. Maybe you should try having Fleetari repair your engine?
