Radio went silent?

I woke up at midnight and was waiting for the clock to hit 1 am so the drunk guy would call. While i was waiting in the kitchen with the radio on the stock radio channel casually camera dancing. It suddenly started making a staticy sound (like when you go through radio channels) and the radio channel just stopped playing. My custom radio was fine.

I never had that happen before. Is the radio always turning off around 1 AM or did something else create it?
