If done right you can drift the Sewage Truk
DORIGARU Jan 18, 2017 @ 9:45pm
It's FWD, so not really drift/

Van works :)

Yes, you can. Drive fast on dirst road, approach a corner, pull the handbrake, block rear tyres for a split second, release handbrake, gas pedal to the floor and away you go. Or just install different size front/rear tyres to make the thing easier. Won't be doing any epic loops like the Ferndale, but some mad slides in corners guaranteed.

slick tyres on the back and fast reaction are the keys for extreme powerslide on the dirt

It's surprising what you can achieve with front wheel drive. Take it out to the large pad at the airstrip, and really work work the gears and the hand brake.

When I was doing some some extensive testing the drag strip I got pretty adept at 180'ing around the tent and stopping with the door next to the sheet, at some pretty breakneck speeds. Then just going crazy around the place - hand break and making sure you are in the right gear to spin the wheels. Most of the time using Rally tires. Haven't really tried the same thing on dirt tho.

Powersliding and drifting are different so you technically can't drift the Satsuma

If mean satsuma than actually i can call it slide only (tried many times :D)

Yeah - but you can drift and powerslide the Sats. Like... what are you claiming is the distinguishing point between drifting and powersliding that excludes the Sats from doing it?

Drifting is done with a RWD car. Another name for it is power oversteer, which FWD cannot do.

perhaps drifting in the ferndale

Use the handbrake and not the floor brake. Handbrake only works on the back wheels and so the front wheels start spinning. You can then drift around corners. It handles a bit different then a RWD would, but its still sliding around the corners, spinning the wheels, on the same kinda angle. Whats the difference?

You need speed to get a FWD sliding, RWD will gain/maintain speed as youre drifting.
Speed is your key if you want to "drift" a FWD, where as RWD will just drift as long as it has enough power.
