Lets talk about Kilju..
I brewed my first batch of Kilju yesterday. Got the recipe from different sources like the wiki and youtube:

1 yeast
6 suggar
add water

I put in yeast first, then the 6 suggar and filled up with water. Brew turned yellow and I closed the lid. I let it be until it stopped making bubble noises a few days later. I went to the guy to sell it but all I've got was 130 Mark and a rating of "I taste some vinegar here... could be better"

Today: Ok, next try. I stuck to the recipe. One yeast first. Added 6 suggar. Filled up with water. This time, I turned the bucket upside down a few times, although different sources said it won't make a difference jet. But it gave me a noice, so why not. Again I waited until I heared no more bubble noised, then I filled up 20 Bottles and went to the drunk guy. His rating this time:

"This tastes like water and piss. I want alcohol. Not this mess" Needles to say I got nothing. And I didn't even piss in the brew..

Why hadn't the recepie worked?

You have to wait more, until the kilju is water clear.

it was clear though

I've noticed that there's a pretty narrow window to get the optimal alchohol level without much yeast or vinegar. When I really want that 170 Mk each, I keep the bucket close so that I can tell that it's done bubbling ASAP, with decent results. 130-160 Mk for each isn't a bad price though. Still a huge return on your investment.

But I got nothing the last time, thats what was wired. I just dumped all and tried again. This time water first then 1 yeast then 6 suggar.

Yeah, that's never happened to me. Pretty weird. Worth a shot. If it keeps messing up, you could try checking out the bucket's attributes in an editor after it's done bubbling.

how do i get bottles
Penny Buns May 10, 2017 @ 4:44pm
Buy out Teimo's stock of juice and drink the bottles. They decrease your hunger but increase your thirst if I recall correctly, so make sure you have a real drink (oispa kaljaa) handy.

With the MSC Edititor its:
finished true
kiljubucketsugar 6
kiljubuckettime 681
kiljubucketyeast 1
kiljubucketwater 30

And some values for vinegar, alkohol and so on. Not sure what I'm looking for.
Penny Buns May 10, 2017 @ 5:42pm
Huh. I think the kilju is done around 675 on the kiljubuckettime, but I'd have to play around with my own values a bit to figure out how high the different levels are when it's done.

I can't say I've had many problems with it. I use the same recipies, and I just leave it in the laundry room to do it's thing and check it at least twice a day. I think it usually takes around 3 days, but there is some variation.

Note that the bubbling does get quite slow. I sometimes leave it in the shower while I sauna if I think it is done, since that ensures I give it enough time to make a gurgle. This technique has consistently yielded top value Kilju for me.

Water
1 yeast
6 sugar
Shake a little.
When the colour changes put the lid on and wait till the bubbling stops

Taking it with you to the sauna is a good method to check if its done.

Do not open the bucket at all if you are not sure if the brewing is done.

Another thing:
How do you handle kilju transport?

I keep the juice bottles in the garage, take the bucket to the garage, fill the bottles and throw them in the van. Before I leave I setup a new batch of kilju.
Drive the van to the drunk guy, sell my precious brew and head on to Teimo to restock in general.
After that I head to the landfill site and collect my bottles just to dump them back in the garage.

It takes almost one complete game day to get it all done. There is enough time left to fill up the trailer with wood and take a sauna.

Note that the bubbling does get quite slow
I noticed, but the liquid turned clear and even the editor said finished was true. And he didn't even paid lower but paid nothing at all and said I should piss off.

I also didn't opened the bucked early. I waited until I heard no noise and headglitched through the lid to check the color.

For the transport, I store the empty bottles on the grass in the front of the house and fill em up there. Then I just throw them into the van and deliver the booze to the drunk guy. When I come home, I set up a new batch. I get the old bottles from the garbage dump usually the day or two after the delivery when I'm on my way to the village.

I played around with my bucket a bit this evening. Brewed for roughly 2 days, typical 6 sugar and 1 yeast recipe, and got: kiljubuckettime 681, kiljubucketalcohol 0.135720565, kiljubucketsweetness 0.200000003, and kiljubucketvinegar 0.0004794283. 170 Mk each bottle. I haven't poked at it too hard but it seems like those are the values for the best kilju, so if you are getting those and he still isn't paying out, then it mightt be a bug of some kind.
BlackDev May 13, 2017 @ 12:53pm
my was:

time: 681
alcohol: 0.086009055
sweetness: 0.200000003
vinegar: 0.050190940
mk: nothing, told me to ♥♥♥♥ off

So basically my alcohol is a bit lower and vinegear a fair bit higher. Still don't know why though. Tried a few more batches so far with the same recipe. All of them got the best rating with 170 Mk. So no clue why that one and the one before it failed.
Penny Buns May 13, 2017 @ 4:28pm
Haha wow. Yeah, who knows. Maybe it was messed up in one of the weird time skips that can happen when you save or sleep at certain times, or something like that that messed up the calculations
