Greased Rust (Solved)
To get the achievement I have to get Satsuma running under 17 seconds quarter mile... Sounds easy, and I've seen people got this done, but I can't. What am I missing here? I have stripped off everything from my car, windshield, doors, fenders, trunk lid and hood, bumpers, rollcage, lights, another seat, even darn dashboard and dices... I have tried it with rally tires and racing slicks. I've modified the gear ratio between 3.900-4.400. I have those Fleetari settings on my Satsuma, about, tried to change these a bit without worse / better results. Because I don't have anything installed anymore I can't see ingame my a/f ratio but in editor it is now about 14.9. It was 14.3 at the beginning, tried 14.6 before this. Now, please, let me know the settings I need to get this darn thing running fast enough... Oh, valve settings are that 7.5 / 8. Losing my NERVES grah, almost a week ingame time lived on the drag strip already and tried to figure out settings with tools and even with editor with no hope to realize this.

Driver is 800 pounds remove the engine and remove the body of the car
Engine, body and driver. :steamhappy: Very well, Sir! How about running this quarter mile under 17 secs, haha! I guess I've removed everything I could have got stripped out. I have got to 17,6 seconds but can't just get the missing 0,6 secs there... More ideas?

I believe removing your windshield will slow you down. No idea otherwise though. :)

D'Oh. Will have to fix it then... Don't know about this game having any aerodynamic things included though.

Yeah I'm not completely sure about it, just seen it mentioned somewhere.

Also don't forget about the fuel in your tank. It's quite heavy.

good point, go with 1/4 tank of fuel.

Removing body panels was a bad idea. Satsuma is slower with hood removed than with hood on, I checked that. Guess that's same for the other panels.
Try to set A/F ratio to 13 - 13.2 and final gear ratio to 4.625. Use slick tires (but that's questionable). Install all performance parts, including bucket seat (but only driver's). Remove everything from the interior but the seat and racing tachometer. Do not install rollcage.
Valve setting strongly affects speed and acceleration. Check this tread http://steamcommunity.com/app/516750/discussions/2/144512526677800393/ and try to unscrew them all the way before they ticks first, that was the best setting for me.
And a good start is very important too. You should start reving when the yellow light is about to change to green, so you will start exactly when the green light is lit. And you must find the revs, when the car accelerates fast and the wheels don't spin.
I spent four days IRL to get Greased Rust. Good luck :steammocking:

OK, I rebuild the body. Thanks. Have been driving with almost empty fuel tank. Will try to get the achievements after that with the settings I have and try to change those with these instructions if it ain't helping. Will reply after testing, thanks really. I thought the weight reduction would be good thing here...

You definitely need windscreen, I'm not sure about the body panels though, removing them used to have only a positive effect, rear wing doesn't have any effect either afaik. I got my achievement with body fully stripped (had windscreen though), with slicks and 4.1 final gear ratio I think. You can get your car to almost perfect tune at Fleetari, just order "moottorin viritys / whatever it was in english" I think the AFR is only one tick away from perfect value for power at that setup. It's still really hard to get the perfect time, I used controller so I could control the clutch progressively, launch is most important moment to get right.

Added windshield, doors, fenders, headlights and dashboard. rear ratio to 4.625. Tuned the valves to one click after ticking. Got my time worse...
Changed a/f to 13.2 in msc editor as I don't have the gauge with me... Well I quess I need it, it's the different value, is it cool value on editor? Anyway, got my car backfiring and got 18.9 time... Uh.

The number in the msc editor IS NOT the fuel mix, its the position of the screw, it will backfire when the fuel mix is leaner than >15:9 and will lose power like crazy. (Checked with the power mod, my engine makes 105hp warm with tuned valves and carb.) Screw position for the dual carb setup is 16.71465682
