Is it worth buying a used g27
I havent found any brand new g27's left in the UK, so my only option is used off amazon or something, How are they for durability? Are they loud? because ive heard many people say the g29 is a very loud wheel. Due to them being discontinued they are more expensive than the g29, so is it worth buying one? Id be using it for my summer car, the F1 games and asseto corsa.

these are high end wheels, better than T150's,so if you find one at a good price, you should buy it m8, i don't have one but it's a really nice wheel, tested it and it's precise

If you manage to find a used G27, you may as well be paying the price it was when it wasn't discontinued. 300+ Euros. You're better off going for a G920 or Thrustmaster unless you can find a G27 cheap enough. I know new ones on Amazon for $600+ new.

Ive looked at the thrustmaster TX, but i dont like the hexagonal wheels, so id have to get TX to get force feedback, buy the leather edition wheel shaped wheel, and different pedals, as the plastic stem pedals are apparently not very strong, AND a shifter to go with it

As far as 3 pedal setups go, G25 and G27 are as low as low end can get. Hell, they are not even made anymore. G29 might be able to get for cheaper, but the shifter i would rather use the G27 one.

After that a step up in quality you get the thrustmasters, with better force feedback n more materials n ♥♥♥♥. Afterwards you are getting into dedicated steering wheel and pedal setups with things that have hydraulic brake and clutch and so on.

A step above that is pretty much thousands of dollars into hand-made carbon fiber and steel cockpit setups with racing bucket seats and probably the best quality you can get.

They are quite durable and somewhat loud. I don't think you can get that kind of feel without it being loud (depends on what you consider loud, and also some games have harsher and clunkier FFB effects than others and thus make more noise).

Mine has been in heavy use for 5 years and its optical encoder wheel (that detects the rotation of the steering wheel) has apparently just now cracked. You can get a replacement encoder wheel made out of brass that will last forever. If you don't use it very heavily, the original plastic encoder wheel might last longer but I've read that some people swap it for a brass one even before it breaks. Other than that it's really solidly built.

But used G27s will mostly still be quite expensive, or if they're not, either the seller doesn't know what they have or it's in bad condition.

I have personally found brand new G29 for cheaper than the used G27.

G27 is seeming lik the most likely option for me, the to and g29 look too garish for my tastes, that's really insightful so thanks, but how is compatibility for modern games? Will it work on msc, forza, f1 games, spin tires or anything similar? Just don't want to take the leap and spend a lot of money on a used wheel only for it not to work on new games

Logitech are just milking consumers with their new wheels... They charge extra for the shifter witch doesnt even have buttons on it... And the wheel is the same. I recommend getting the G27
P.S. : Only game I have had problems with the G27 is in F1 2014, where it is not supported for some reason.

It will work with most games. I even got it to work in a Playstation 2 emulator and a real Playstation 2.
