Optional gear changing with mouse, steering with mouse

Point mouse at gear stick, press and hold button (prob. leftmousebutton), make a movement with mouse to go in gear. Or something like that.
And steering with mouse, maybe like GTA 5 (with button hold you steer, or with hold you freelook)
I dont have a good wheel nor a gear stick so would like to see this, if ofcourse it is possible to do. Thanks

Having to look at the gearstick sounds like suicide. Plus you don't look at the stick while shifting IRL either, for the exact same reason - you should concentrate on what's happening around you.

But a mouse steering option would be neat.

Just a optional way to change gears. Ferndale already has option to do that

well, you wouldn't want to shift the h-shifter in the satsuma with your own head, since the dot on the screen shows which way your head is facing, not your hands, and you don't look at the shifter when you change gears irl either

i mean, it can be any other interpritation of changing gears with mouse. Maybe like in spintires then, but with full range gearbox.
I just gave an example thats all
Besides, you already need to look on some elements of the car to interact with them (handbrake - for example)
