I got around it by parking the sliding door of the van RIGHT in front of the door and just throwing everything from the counter into the van.
*Three inventory slots rotated by mouse wheel
I feel that the boot/back of the van/cab space IS already a moveable inventory. I always store a few chips in the cab of the work truck. Van has a few bits and bobs kicking around on the floor. Thats how real life works. Ya store stuff somewhere till ya need it. Ya dont carry it on ya person at all times.
That is one way to live, yes. However, there is such a thing as backpack living. As well, as anyone who's gone on a hiking or camping trip can tell you, there are times where it makes good sense to bring food and drink on your person even when you do have a car. A great deal of the exploration potential of My Summer Car involves moving about on foot, as there are many areas that cars just plain cannot reach.
The point tho - is that the car should be the focal point. It acts as a mobile inventory and a force enhancer (speed). Making the player more resiliant without a car sort of goes against the general vibe of the game.
