A second satsuma

I realize new cars are not being planned at the moment but it would be cool if I find could buy all the parts to make a second satsuma. Then I could have a rally satsuma and a drag race satsuma.

Hopefully the game will be able to handle two vehicles in the future without the relatively good optimization of the game goes away/it lags more, because if you can have two of those cars you'd be able to set one up for rally and the other one for economic/day to day driving, if you catch my drift.

So we wont be able to build different cars...? Thats sad because i would like to play it hunderts of hours but soon, if everything is done, it gets boring... more cars = more playable value

There might be another car, but it would need to be in another instance of the game. Two buildable cars cannot exists in same game.

Would it not be possible to somehow agressively freeze the state of the car you're not driving/tampering with, so that nothing is simulated in it? Maybe some LOD on the engine parts, if the detailed engine is hard on the GPU? You know better than I do, of course. I'm just asking because it would be magical to have one savefile with a small junkyard's worth of Summer Cars.

while i know nothing about how this game is coded, im assuming that the variables for the engine simulations would be shared so both cars would run at the same time and separating them would be either a. impossible b. double the fps drops because twice as many simulations would be running or c. too much of a hassle compared to swapping starter vehicles

Just wondering if this would be possible... After an even trigger like winning a drag race or rally, an npc offers to buy your car from you. If you sell it, it is removed from the game world entirely. At which point, a 2nd car (maybe even a different make/model) would spawn in the junk yard. You would have to take the tractor/trailer down there and scavenge as many parts to it as possible and order the rest from a JC Whitney catalog or some such.
