Vehicle check (for parts condition)
Go to lindell inspection shop and let check your satsuma, so you'll get a report about your parts condition

Maybe same process like the car inspection. Park the car onto the car lift and request a car check, after checking the satsuma you get a report over the parts condition

Like...
alternator: 88%
crankshaft stock: 42%
gearbox: 19%

Or...
alternator: good condition
crankshaft stock: medium condition
gearbox: bad condition

Because i (and probably some other people) do not know how an engine works and if we have a problem with the car, we do not know what cause this problem. So this report gives us a hint on the damaged engine part and we do not have to disassemble the whole engine every time again

Sorry for my bad english 0:)

There are symptoms of parts wearing down, most of the parts are working fine unless they're really worn down.

Yes i know but bear in mind, there are many car-noobs xD

Ok seriously
I think it's easy to implement it in game...
The building and the "inspection animation" is already in game and we need only a new report where we can see the part condition, which can read out from the safegame

and
We have a reason to go to the lindell inspection shop after passing the inspection, for now there is no more reason to visit this place after inspection and the booze job. Both are just one-time events!

and
We have a new way to "burn" our money :D

I still think that learning symptoms of worn down parts is an important part of the game. They're all pretty easy to remember. Inspection shops are something you don’t visit very often anyway I think.

It would make more sense if Fleetari would do this, since Lindell's job is only to make sure your car complies with govmnt requirements, he's not a real mechanic per se.

One way to implement it is to make an option in Fleetari's brochure like "Maintanence Check".
You leave your car at repair shop, and when it's done, Fleetari would give you a checklist of things wrong so you could choose either to pay him to fix it (maybe with a treshhold of how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ part can be before Fleetari refuses to repair it and forces you to buy spare) or take car and do it yourself.

On the other hand this would be too casual for the game and I'd rather leave it as is.

While I'm not a fan of that exact suggestion, it could be easily rephrased into something which doesn't shift difficulty so much - we could be given some sort of in-game guide into determining which parts are worn down, just like players can find out right now from Steam forums but by in-game means.

I'm thinking of either some brochure or a buyable car enthusiasts magazine with some sort of 101 for self-checking car's condition.

Wouldn't have to be 100% accurate too, just to spice things up - but it could have trivial things like "If you hear squeaking, you could try checking X, Y or Z. If your car is losing oil, take it to the closest car mechanic ASAP"... etc.

Yeah, something like Service Manual would be nice.

This is a pretty clever idea +1

It would be nice to be able to at least check the wear of the belts so it doesn't break in the worst possible time.
