New way to tell which spanner you need
Hey its me and my nuts again

This would make the game realistically easier if that's even a thing.

Lets say you pick up a random spanner IRL and try it on a bolt. You won't be able to tell exactly what size the bolt is but you can clearly see if you need a larger or smaller spanner than the one you have in your hand.

It would take so much less time to find the spanner you need if the game had a way to tell you if you need a larger or smaller one. Maybe it could show <- or -> above your crosshair.
For example if you start with a 10mm spanner and you see a -> you'll know you only have to try the larger spanners.

This way you wouldn't find yourself in a situation where you try every single spanner from 6mm to 15mm only to find out you needed the 5mm one.

Now I know some people can tell their size by just looking at them but that's ♥♥♥♥ing impossible for me.

I agree, having a thing like this would be more realistic and enjoyable than the current completely blind system. It's been suggested many times, though, and there are people who prefer the more "hardcore" current way, even though it is less realistic.

fantastic

how about you just keep a guide tab on the steam browser while you play? that's what i did.

same problem except you press shift tab instead of alt tab, plus outside help can be a bit immersion breaking

but if you think about it this might make things too easy:
this way you'll know exactly which spanner you need but with my method the game would just give you a hint to which spanners you should try

Yeah i DO agree that we need a way to tell us "this wrench is too big/small".

However i dont think its really THAT immersion-breaking.

A guy used a pic that details how to build the car as a garage flag image, that way he can just look up the pic and know which spanner to use, how many bolts, and in which order.
Wouldn't be better if the bolts had a imprint in them saying the size. To me that just seems more realistic.
