Some "features" for those who pirate game

I think this is possible with some sort of key you get for buying game but if you don't get that key because you pirated game there should be some "features" that come with a pirated version like spontenous combustion, loud distored audio, broken physics and anything to make the pirated versions of the game unplayable.

Pretty much only way to tell whether user has legit version or pirated version is Steam DRM. However, pirates can emulate Steam very easily so it doesn't work. Most likely it would only cause some issues to legit users.

I would love the idea, but there is no bullet proof way to tell difference between legit and pirated versions :/

I don't think it should be too obvious or they might mod out the "features".
How about random engine blow out. Add some sort of un passable condition for inspection. Bring back the ditch of death from an older build and maybe add some extra ditches. Invisible train. Bolts come undone randomly. No subtitles. All traffic speeds and does not try to avoid you.

That's a shame, it's not fair for you to have to lose that profit and them not have any consequences for stealing your creation, well if there's anyway to punish them without causing legit users any issues im all in for it.

Meh - I'd prefer content/time to be focuses on gameplay, not hand spanking. Any time spent trying to prevent piracy is time that could be better spent just making the game better so more people want to buy it.

And there's another issue,there are legit users who copy the game's original files post them on sites like Mediafire so that perople who dont wanna pay (or can't) are able to play the game for free.

There is no longterm solution to piracy and never will. Thats the main Problem. There will allways be a Hacker or Group as such who can overcome any protection in time. All what Topless Gun can do is to go on and work. We can only help him as a Community and act nice and helpfull to anyone here with or without a Little Mouse next to his name. Thats called good reflection and increase the chance far more the Game will bought by the pirate, his fallow pirateers and legit potential buyers.

I dont like it as well to support presumable pirates. But we dont have a guarantee that he has a ilegal copy or not. Sure mostlikely but you never know. It not up to us to tell them "Buy it!" and stop any communication with that Person. That is to my understanding of humans far more destructiv to legal, ilegal or potential customer and to Topless Gun his work than the opposite.
