Can´t save the game

When i go to toilet and press it to save, saving... reads on my screen, but it ends and if i load again it comes back to previous save. If i take an back up and start new game i can save then. how can save file get that corrupt?

was wrong, it won't even save if i start new game, just went to shop and saved there, and continued and i was back home in starting point.

The save might be set to read-only so the game can't overwrite it. Find your save file(defaultES2File.txt) and right click it. Go to properties and make sure it's not read-only. Also, if it says "Unblock", then click that, too.

it's the same with me and it didin't work for me to uncheck the thing in propertys somone help me i've been trying this for like 2 months now to find help but nothing works

I have the same thing. I´ve tried unticking, i´ve tried backing up. Still some parts just wont save for me. I have gone to the store for the first time like 20 times now. Well invested money.. sure.

I'd say that actually finding a relevant thread is more appropriate.

Some people have reported that it was their Antivirus that prevented the game from saving properly. Give that a go. Add the game the all exceptions, etc.

So i´ve been roaming around looking for answers. And it seems like if i do "too much" it wont save everything.

Example:

I start a new game, put both the gascans in the van, put the beers and sausages in the fridge. and then i go to save. I then quit the game back up the file on my desktop and start it again. Everything i´ve saved is saved.

I continue on to then drive to town and buy all the ♥♥♥♥ i need and fill the gascans etc. Then i save at the store. back it up, and it works fine. or, it worked one of the times atleast.

That time i then drove back to the house, unloaded the van with all the stuff. And then go to save again. just to be sure. When i then get back into the game, im in town. All the ♥♥♥♥ i´ve just bought is on the ground. And the van is presumably back at the house. Try the backup. And it doesent work.

I´ve been putting in 65-70 hours on this game. Trying all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ with unticking read-only etc. And i am running it in my "main account" or whatever. The only thing i think it can be is the read only part. Because somehow sometimes i get back into the file and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing is ticked in again.

Am i just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded? Help me ples.

i checked the microsoft thing, and it already allows the file all the way through the firewall. I went into AVG and made an exception for the file. Not that it said that it wasnt allowing it to start with. But this didint work either. thanks for the tip though.

none.I unticked the whole folder. and also tired unticking each file.

If you delete everything in the Amistech folder in locallow and create a new save, does it mark those new files as read-only aswell? That could indicate there's a problem with folder permissions.

So, i managed to work out a new save. with all my new items back home. (HALLELUJA)

What i did was this: I went into my folder. Un-ticked all the f*cken files from read only. double checked and double checked again. I then went into the game, saved. quit the game. Made a copy of the folder on my desktop and then started the game up again.

Although. When doing this exact same thing again after i sorted all items out, placing them on the right place after sleeping. I got back to the same save again. From what it seems now. I can only save 2 times per new game. Since its always the same shiz when i try to save a third time.

so here i am, ready to build this fkn car with all the shiz i need. Knowing i wont be able to save again.

There's likely something weird going on with a parent folder. Check the read-only settings for all above folders (Amistech < Locallow < Appdata etc.) in reverse order.

Make sure folder permissions on the Security tab for all folders are correct, if not, click Advanced and check if permission inheritance is set correctly.
