Cigarette smoke can cause fire.

I smoked a cigarette outside, and decided to go to sleep when I smoked and I blew smoke out of my mouth, and that somehow caused a house fire.

Not a bug. Sleeping while smoking(any part of smoking, inhaling, exhaling, lighting up, putting out) will catch the house on fire.

It seems like it is a bug. If the butt has been chucked somewhere outside, there shouldn't be a house fire just from exhaling smoke indoors.

How the hell can exhaling cigarette smoke cause fire? Pretty sure that cigarette smoke isn't hot enough to even cause small fire.

The game just checks if you are in the act of smoking. Something like

if (playerIsSleeping == true && isSmoking == true) { //startfire method called }

The act of exhaling would have to be removed from the general smoking related things.

The smoke isn't what is causing the fire. Smoking itself as a whole is. Until you are done getting rid of the smoke, you are still in the smoking stage.

All that needs to be done is take the exhaling out of the smoking routine and add that as a subroutine that's called after smoking is finished. No more false triggered fires.
