Anyone gotten the gamepad to function properly? It says press UP LEFT then press shoot. What is the shoot button? Also do I press UP, then LEFT, then shoot? I tried doing that and trying doing up and to the left diagonally but then the menu continuously scrolls through each item like the joystick is stick in the downward position.

I tried big picture mode but that seems to distort the sound.

I can use the joystick, but only with the analogic "stick", not the D-Pad, what really bothers in a platform game...

I think I got it to work in big picture. I was able to remap the keys. I should have my config on there if you look for it.

You have to be in big picture mode. Hit the xbox logo if using an xbox controller or the steam logo if using a steam controller. Then you can go to browse configs and you can go to community configs and you should be able to find mine.

I can use my SFC USB gamepad for this game,you just hold up+left and push fire(in the game of fire)button can set it.down+right same of up+left.

I think you can go into the controls. See what button it should be and see where I mapped it. I'm pretty sure I mapped all the buttons but if not you can edit my config.

This was from the era of having to "calibrate" gamepads and joysticks. You hold UP-LEFT (corner). Anyways... LOVE this game. :>

I just played a bit, and I'm using Joy2key like i've done for most DOS games. Works perfectly except it's still kinda hard to aim diagonally up while standing vs moving on the analog stick. I can't stand using the D-pad in the 360 pad. May need to tinker with deadzones more, too bad Joy2key doesn't let you set different deadzones for vertical vs horizontal axis on the same stick. Does Steam config let you?

I know you can set different deadzones but I don't recall if you can have separate ones for the vertical and horizontal axis.
