F1 2017

F1 2013 compared to F1 2017, is it worth a buy?
I have F1 2013. It's fun, I recommend it.
The reason why I don't have F1 2015 or 2017 (yet) is I haven't seen a great difference between them. Or, enough to justify the cost.

What is new/better in F1 2017 that will make it worth the price to an F1 2013 game owner?

In addition to the game quality and new models, I think there is not much difference.

It's more or less the same game engine, so there's no significant difference in the physics.
By the looks of it so far, F1 2013 will still have more Classic content than F1 2017 will.

However, F1 2017 will definitely be the more attractive one to look at, it will also come with new sounds and skins. Some of the game modes will be slightly different as well.

As in most sequelled sports games, 80-90% of the content will the same as in the last game.

If you have F1 2013 and feel happy to stick with it, I can't see a good reason to buy 2017.

I hope the new F1 ownership will mean Codemasters are allowed to do more with the license, so I have high hopes for F1 2018.

Tip: you could buy rFactor 2 instead and wait for a F1 2017 mod to appear, the physics in rFactor 2 is much better than anything Codemasters can do, in my humble opinion.

unless your a die hard f1 fan who must play the latest cars i'd say that considering the price (rip off) of £44.99 i would stick with 2013

In terms of classic cars you're wrong, f1 2013 has 11 and the new f1 2017 is set to have 12 :P.

If you like playing with a more Arcadey handling model stick with 13. But if not goto F1 2017, where career mode has improved, force feedback has, handing has. Oh, and the physics will have changed to suit the 2017 Regulations.

Get 2016 on a sale (just before release of F1 2017), it's basically the same game with new car models.

I was not up to date with the info, thanks for the correction and update.

Still, one more car is the best they can top F1 2013 with ?

Meanwhile in MotoGP 17 ('yes', not at all the same kind of game, I know, but still ...):
- the Red Bull Rookies Cup
- Moto 3
- Moto 2
- Moto GP
- 70+ legendary riders (to be included in the main game)
- 12+ legendary bikes (to be included in the main game)

Post-edit: I am definitely going to buy F1 2017 myself, since I collect racing games and since these F1 games are great fun; even though I wish for more content I still enjoy what's there.
Heck, I enjoyed F1 2014 and 2015, which everybody else seem to loath. Racing and driving games are kind of my thing, it's what I spend 90% of my gaming budget on. It's not as if I'm going to buy the latest big titled game, like Prey or Stellaris.

I second that.

Thanks for the MotoGP 17 bit. I was not aware and that classic content is something I'm interested in. Did Rossi MotoGP game have classics at all?

I'd like to get the classic dlc for F1 13 but now is difficult to get... so my second best bet is F1 17 now. ;P

With a decent wheel, 2017 feels a hell of a lot better than anything we've seen before.

I can't say anything about controller.

Just interested in the vintage F1 cars and tracks....

What I really don't like about the vintage mode in 2013 is that you can only race with 6 teams or 12 cars. This makes the track feel a bit empty.

But if you are okay playing the 2013 season it's still a great racing-game.

Why do you think that?
F1 2016 does not support my Fanatec CSL Elite there is no functioning controller calibration possible. In F1 2013 there are no problems so F1 2013 is definitely the better game.
