Disabling a Mod

So I was trying some mods ... some I liked ... some i didn;t like. Yet I noticed that once you activate a mod, you absolutely can NOT ever deactivate it. I kept disabling a mod i didn;t like, and it would immediately reactivate. "No problem", I thought ... just unsub from the mod in the Workshop ... and now my profile is locked down and says I HAVE to redownload that mod in order to continue playing.

This is going to be a serious issue with this game, as ANY mod based game always hs and always will break at every game update. Having players be able to disable bad mods is crucial. It sucks that once we activate a mod, we are stuck with it forever.

Devs, please consider fixing it so that we can get rid of bad mods we do not want any more.

Thanks for your feedback. We will defniitely check this out. This sounds like a bug. Of course you should be able to unsubscribe/uninstall mods you don't like or that break the game.

Many thanks for that. yeah just caught me off guard. I uninstall/unsubscribe from the mod and the game tells me I cannot launch it wothout that mod. Unless there is a step I am missing somewhere? I also tried disabling all mods in the game via the in game menu and they all just pop right back into place, so it isn;t isolated to just the one mod.

FYI -- I am referring to the skins/decals currently available on the workshop. I was just wanting to check out the various companies and looks folks made for actual companies :)

Same problem here, I've installed some mods, but I which to disable + uninstal some of them, but same bug, and If I uninstall the mod I can't continue to play on my save !

I've unlocked many thing on my save, I don't want to restart a new game.

We are the June 20th and yet no fix.

One year later and the problem is still here.

In the games start screen (where you can find the overview of your savegames), there is a button called "Mods" at the bottom of each of your companies. After clicling it you can unselect mods you don't want to use or that aren't available anymore.

The problem is that i just want to disable the mods, not just uninstall mods that aren't available anymore.
It's the basics of any mod manager, tick to enable the mod, untick to disable it.
Not go to the workshop and unsubscribe and then pray the Mods gods will agrree to disable the mods from the save.

That's exactly what you find after clicking the "Mods" button in the main screen - a list of all installed mods and you can activate or deactivate it via the checkboxes.

No, it doesn't work, when I click disable all mods, when I load the game, the mods are still enabled, and when going back to the mod menu, the mod are ticked back too. i had to unsubscribe from them to permanently disable them.

Works for me all the time
