Bus simulator 18 freezes

Hello,

I'm getting continuous crashes on BS18, they happen only at the end of missions. I thought uninstalling and reinstalling the game could fix the issue but it didn't. My PC is new and pretty powerful, I do not get any fps drop or stuff like that. At the end of each mission it just freezes and crashes, PC keeps working fine.

CPU: i7 9700k
RAM: 32Gb at 3000 Mhz
2 SSDs, 1Tb each
GTX 980 Strix

Drivers already up to date (I checked all of them today).

Does anybody know what could cause it? Every other game, including much more demanding ones, works fine.

yeah, in the beginning, this game had something called a "memory leak", famous twitch and youtuber squirrel had this issue waay before the game even launched. When he played the game for a couple of hours, the fps will drastically fall back, from 60 to 25. So they fixed it why re-writing the whole code via c++ instead of blueprints. Still have no idea why they did that, but they did it. And it worked, but the problem was, even do they did it, it never went completely away. I for example, have this issue only when choosing a bus, sometimes i never have this issue, other times, i do. After i finished the route and go back and choose a second bus, i don't get it anymore. I emailed them and they never replied, talking about service ey! So in you're case, don't think that they would even do anything for you, because the things that they are going to ask you like reinstalling, etc, you already did. So forget it. Also, bus sim 21 is around the corner, so why would they even bother. I hope this rant helps ;)

Yea I wrote them a mail but they still did not answer, probably they don't work in the weekend, I hope they'll answer during the week...

Anyway the game runs really smooth, crashes happen only when I finish missions, I can free roam for hours and hours so I don't know, maybe is something in a library that could be solved somehow...

Maybe they could just tell me "look, we don't care, we give you a discount on 21", I'd accept even that, it'd be honest, considering I bought the game and played it a few hours. Anyway the first day I bought it, it was working fine, the next day the problems started, but my pc is fine, I checked everything... It easily runs RDR2, it can't struggle with BS18 :/

about the discount, we are talking about stillalive studios, yes the DLC and games are ok prices, but still...... . About the issue coming the second day, i'm telling you memory leak. There is no other way, to fix the memory leak, they need to spend hours and hours looking for it and resolving that. I don't think that's worth their time considering that bus sim 21 is just around the corner.

Me to. Even I am having this issue. At the end of the mission I played the entire game froze before I got the option of ending the mission or heading to garage. I waited for seconds and minutes but the entire game froze. I had to go to task manager and quit the application. I tried other routes and at the end of those routes the same problem happened. Here are the following steps I did:
1) I restarted my computer
2) I uninstalled and reinstalled the game
3) I created a second profile to see if that is also giving problems

None of these steps have helped. The game has still faced the issue.

Everything in my computer is fine:
1) I have enough memory in my hard disks and they are on blue
2) I only keep 2-3 apps open my Oculus, Steam and File explorer

I could presume that the game itself has some bugs somewhere which I think need to be fixed. Now I need to find an application which can prevent game crashes and I need to also find one which can scan the Bus Simulator 18 game for any viruses in it so that I can easily get them cleaned up and have the game function smoothly again without this issue.

I don't know why but what I did looks like solved the problem, you might try to do the same, it has 0 sense, but that's what I did:

- Run -> %temp% and delete everything in that folder.
- open game directory, right click on game icon and "run as administrator" for all users
- Run the game, it will be crappy and slow, like 5 fps, I don't know why, but it shows how well the game was made... set "fullscreen" (nothing else) then just open a free roam or a mission then just quit the game.
- Open game directory and remove "run as administrator" for all users
- Restart PC
- Run the game ONLY from steam library, never use desktop shortcut

Mine was unplayable, with this illogic solution it works again, try and let me know.

PS: there's surely a problem with game coding, if you change resolution, for instance, it doesn't save the settings.

For me the game is running smooth and my system is less performant than yours. So, hard to say what may cause these issues for you. The best will be to contact the technical support team via email, so they can take a closer look: [e-mail]

because it won't! There is going to be one update dropped in maybe 30 years, if you're problem is fixed in that update, that would so amazing! But that will not be the case, trust me. There are still some memory leak issues in this game. Not only that, bus sim 21 is around the corner and this game will be dead. So just wait on that game and you will be more than happy. The base map of this game (meaning 18) + american map, the same busses and a dubble decker bus. So its worth waiting.

Let's hope for the best, that's all i can say. "i paid for a malfunctioning software", well, so did I. I paid the game when it was released. It was horrible, it got improved with updates, but the physics where still very, very poor at best. Gearbox issues on iveco, etc, etc. Said everything i had to say, but then the support team behind this game forgot me completely.

So again, i hope for the best, but the service will still remain the same in the sense that they will try to not listen to you but do what ever they get paid for! If even a company like TML STUDIOS would have made this game, this game would be soo much better with endless support and as best, a proper forum where you can chat. Even if bus sim 21 will drop, the bus from tml will still release at the end of this month, so i will play that in the meantime.

I have the same issue, support does not seem to have the answer either, they are probs focused on Bus Sim 21 now so I am going to get The Bus on early access.
Look on the bright side, at least we know now before we dropped cash on bus sim 21, I am miffed tho as i had all DLC for 18 and now can't play it anymore :(

Yeah, the bus it is for me! But i won't give up on bus sim 21, maybe it will be something else, but I doubt it
