FMOD Studio plugin for UE causing missing sound for some players?
Like others here my game is missing sound. I contacted support and received instructions which I carefully followed, but nothing worked.

I started digging into this, certain there was some .ini file I could tinker with. I found that this game runs on the Unreal Engine with sound handled by a plugin called FMOD Studio. I believe that the missing sounds are supposed to be played through this plugin, but for some reason it isn't initializing or it can't find its content.

It is possible that sound is working on the developer's system in the editor, but not working in the packaged build here on Steam. I found a case of this happening in a developer forum post.

I am simply asking the developers to please do a fresh build of this game with an updated FMOD plugin. I think some of us here would be willing to test the build if you release it as an optional beta.

Footnote: I develop as a hobby and used an early version of FMOD many years ago!

I'll look into what's going on here. Can you provide your:
OS
System Specs

And you've already verified your files and disabled any conflicting programs (anti-virus, etc?)

OS: Windows 10 x64 Version 10.0.17763.168; all current updates
Mainboard: ASRock Z270 Killer SLI/ac
Processor: Intel Core i5 7600K
Memory: 16 GB DDR4-2132 (Corsair brand)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti (MSI brand)
Video Driver: 11/12/2018
Sound Card: Onboard HD Audio
Disk: 500 GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO NVMe

I've verified my files, and in task manager nothing is running that isn't part of Windows or Steam.
I have no antivirus installed.

Sound works for every game I've played recently except this one.

Thanks for looking into it.

Has this been fixed yet? I'm considering asking for refund if another week goes by and i can't play this game.

I also have no sound in the game as soon as I'm sitting in the car. Before that the sound still works. What can I do? There are also no subtitles, although they are activated.

This solves the "no sound" problem. Got this from Aspyr Support:

Please disconnect all bluetooth and USB devices besides your keyboard and mouse from your PC and restart your computer.

Then, click the 'START' (Windows symbol) from the bottom left corner of your screen and type in %temp%, then press Enter.
Clear out all of the contents from that folder.

Next, press ctrl+alt+del to open your Task Manager. Open the Processes tab and end all processes that are not Windows required besides Steam.

Then, right click Observer from the Steam Library menu and select Properties. Under the Local Files tab, select Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Once that completes, relaunch the game.

Also, double check SLI is disabled within your Nvidia control panel.
