Can't even start the game!

I played the game for about 30 min (in windowed 1600x900) than closed the game.
Now whenever I try and launch the game the screen goes black and Unreal Engine 4 crashes.
I have no idea what to do.
I can't play the game at all now.
Can anyone help?

I have a Windows 10 custom desktop with 32 gb of ram,
a Navida GTX 1080 graphics card,
a ROG Maximus VIII Hero mother board.

*UPDATE*
Tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling with no change in the problem. Unreal still crashes on stat up.

I keep getting the crash report window for Unreal Engine 4 crashing on start up.

Sometimes when the UNreal Engine fails me, I start the game then I press the Windows key to get to the task bar then right clicked on the games icon and then in the pop up clicked on the UNreal engine entry. This has sometimes done something, I know not what, but it clears up the problem for me.

The problem seems to be with the games luancher.
I hope they patch it soon, but in the mean time this works for me.

That's excellent! There have been a couple of games here mostly by small independent developers and somehow I stumbled onto this "fix" and when I get into trouble and have just a black screen and nothing else going on I try this and I get through. Awesome, enjoy the game.

Mine would just crash.
It's a very unstable fix, but it does run the run.
I have to use game pad as clicking with the mouse freezes the game.

I just tried your solution again and it has stopped working.
as soon as the tab bar disappears the game crashes...
