Parrot to scare the snake away keeps disappearing

every time I get the parrot from Cooter's house in order to scare the snake in the swamp, it disappears by the time I get to the cemetery. When I go back to Cooter's house, the parrot is back again. Why is this happening?

You need the bird cage from the balcony in order to keep the bird contained. Hope this helps!
