Dire Grove?

Is Dire Grove really coming to Steam at some point? It's my favorite Big Fish game of all time and I'd love to play it again on Steam...

Glad to see there's at least another sensible gamer out there, appreciating Dire Grove for the awesome game it is. I dare say it deserves a release on Steam much more than most of the Big Fish games that were released on Steam until now.

Yes, where is Dire Grove? Had the tradition of playing it on Christmas Eve, until Windows stopped supporting the game after I got my updated PC. Such an amazing game! Can they bring it back, please?

I have been waiting for this to be released for years. I asked BigFish when it could be up on Steam and they replied
"We would LOVE to bring Dire Grove to Steam. However, we do not have an version of the game that will work on Steam yet. We are heartbroken, because it is one of our favorites in the series. We are doing our best to bring as many MCF to steam as we are able. Wish us luck!"

i can't wait for this!!! this is hands down my favorite MCF game of all time!!! i live in a town of about 500 people in the back woods of NH and i would always play this in the dead of winter!

does anybody have any news on the situation? the steam page for the collection says the dire grove games are "Games coming to Steam at later date" however, it's already 2022 and they aren't on steam yet. Does anybody think they will ever be released on steam?

I asked big fish on twitter, but no reply. Even though they sent a tweet one minute ago.

Started a customer service ticket with Big Fish Games to ask if there is any way to play Dire Grove (which is the very first game I bought from them way back when) on Windows 10... and all they did was give me a coupon.
The commercial gesture is nice, but I wasn't trying to get a free game. I want to play Dire Grove again...

They've been doing that whole coupon dodge since the game quit working, apparently. I've seen people on the Big Fish forums complain about that.

The game doesn't work on Windows 10 so Steam isn't selling it. You can buy Dire Grove on Big Fish Games' website, but that version only works on Windows 8 or older. BFG would have to modify the game to make it work on Win10. But BFG is not a game developer anymore. It only sells games made by others. So that's why nothing is being done for Dire Grove. Those who want to play it would have to do it on Win7 or 8, or XP.

I'm necroing this slightly, but I got it to work in an emulater of Windows 7 on Oracle Virtual Box. The audio doesn't quite match the game, but it works! It only worked with a disc copy I got at a yard sale.

When I got my Windows 10 PC and laptop, I kept my Win 8 laptop as it was so I could continue with games that required flash player and those other things that Adobe doesn't do and Google, etc. won't allow anymore.
