Welcome to the asteroid belt

The full release of Orebits takes you through a 12 sector campaign at the edge of known space. Unlock new Mining Tools and upgrades, experiment with different builds, meet ever increasing corporate production demands and find out what exactly is hiding out there.

Finish the campaign and you'll unlock Interstellar Operations, where you can continue mining far beyond our solar system.

20 months of Friday development!

It's pretty surreal to finally write this.

We've been making Orebits for almost 20 months, mainly on Fridays. For most of that time it was just the two of us building, testing and endlessly tweaking our strange little asteroid mining game.

Now we're suddenly watching creators play it, seeing videos appear online and realizing that Orebits is actually going out into the universe.

That's incredibly exciting. Also pretty terrifying.

We have no idea how the game will be received. We just hope you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it.

How do the devs play?

We’ll start a fresh mining operation and show you how we like to play, which upgrades we prioritize and how we build synergies between Mining Tools, Deployables and the roguelite Upgrade Tree.

Strategy, builds & questionable decisions

There’s no carefully rehearsed showcase here. We’re simply playing the game, talking through our decisions and probably disagreeing about the best strategy along the way (mostly Idle or Active).

Ready to Mine? Orebits Launches September 10!

It's official: Orebits launches on Steam on September 10, 2026 at 12:00 UTC!

After 18 months of development on Fridays, we're finally ready to send you into the asteroid belt.

In Orebits, you work as a lone asteroid miner for a greedy corporation at the edge of known space. Deploy powerful Mining Tools, shatter alien asteroids, build clever synergies in your roguelite Upgrade Tree and uncover the mysteries of deep space.

Along the way, tougher asteroids, increasing production demands and strange discoveries will force you to keep adapting your mining operation.

The full release features the complete 12-sector campaign, new Mining Tools, upgrades and research, the full story of Orebits and Interstellar Operations, an endless mode that unlocks after completing the campaign.

Alongside the game, we'll also release Orebits: Employee of the Month Edition and Orebits: Original Soundtrack & Story for anyone who wants to support our two-person team a little extra.

It's been quite a journey getting here. A huge thank you to everyone who played the demo, joined us during Steam Next Fest, shared feedback or wishlisted the game. You've helped make Orebits a much better game.

permanent orebits in alt tab

i have some type of orebits viewable while holding alt tab, cant find it in task manager and clicking the X to close it in alt tab does nothing. trying to select it does nothing. gonna try rebooting pc to get rid of it side note moving my mouse cursor to the edges of the game changed it back to my default system cursor while near the edges, one other game recently also been doing this, dont know why or if its due to the games itself....

Content is HUGE but very grindy with little variation. Its very well done gfx and vfx wise so for me its a yay for your bucks!

I really like Orebits. It's one of those “just one more run” kind of incrementals.

I really enjoyed the upgrade paths, especially having to choose between three different upgrades. On Asteroid 2, I got a particularly powerful upgrade that gave me a huge spike in power for a few runs, until I reached the next asteroid and the difficulty ramped back up again.

I think they’ve done a really great job with the balance and fun factor across the first three asteroids. I definitely need to get back in there.

I yearn for the mines.

I’ll update my review as I play more!

When launching the game, a white screen appears and nothing happens. Windows 10, graphics card: Radeon RX 580. I want to play this game, please help me
