I think less enemies, but stronger would make the game creepier and more intense.
right now as I see enemies I'm really not that worried, they don't take that much damage to kill at all. But if you gave them more hitpoints then you would be overwhelmed. I think it'd be interesting to put more focus into making each battle with a monster intense (watching it charge you while you have to pump it full of lead, blood gushing out from it).

Also by having a bit less of them, it does kind of give a more intensity per enemy instead of them just being low faulter.

This is one of the things I was aiming for at one point, where each battle with an enemy would be a hectic encounter and a battle between life and death.

It's really been a mixed bag - some people enjoy the overhwhelming feeling of the enemies approaching, but other people would prefer a little bit less of masses and more suspense.

For the release version I'm aiming to balance both. Some levels offer you a creepy feeling of suspense whereas other levels are full-on shooting.

that'd be a great way to have multiple difficulties to start? or even have it be 2 seperate games in 1.

call it fight agaisn't titans, monsters are same size as now, bullet sponges, but less.

then have the flood, monsters are smaller, same amount as now (or more) but die easily.

it'd be the same exact game just kind of a mini mod that affects the monsters which would give the game 2 kinds of playthough styles!
