Report a translation problem
1: Our initial idea was to use the speed-potion in the Mines, at the bridge. You still can get over to the other side with the potion (without solving the magnet puzzle), but it needed way too much agility, so we added option B; the magnet puzzle. Also, one of our players reported that he solved the battery-bucket puzzle with the speed potion, which is funny, because we never knew it was possible.
2: The switches are there to seal the leaks on the pipe. You can see that there are three bubbling outlets on the top of the pipe outside, you seal those with the levers. This is needed so the power can travel to and energize the Disk-part in the underwater hideaway.
3: There is a small camera animation which looks at the box on the other side, it has a LED that lights up - it basically opens up the box on the II. side of that room.
4: Yes, the professor left using the same portal. I am sure he had some "master key" to operate all the puzzles without touching the well thought out course...
