crystal lab keypad symbols not matching note?

Two of the keys i can recognize, the others are guess work for me. Or that puzzle is bugged.
I can't find anything else to interact with so i'm pretty stuck.

Have you seen the lever just by the entrance of the Crystal Lab? You will have to find a missing piece for the cipher :)

I got the second half to show up but the combo seems wrong :(. I matched the columns to the rows but nothing's activating.

The order matters! The order and the cipher should both be read from the paper :)

In a hidden-object game, if symbols have number by them, that means that the symbols are to be used in numerical order. But here, the numbers link to the other symbols only so that's where the confusion was for me.

Yes, I found this puzzle completely counter-intuitive. The grid revealed on the wall did not seem to have any relevance to the cipher in the paper note, and despite trying several combinations of symbols I was unable to decipher it. Then I thought that perhaps the grid on the wall was explaining which symbols match other symbols. Unfortunately that didn't get me anywhere either, since there seemed to be no logical correlation between the symbols, and still no direction as to which order they should be entered.

When I finally looked up the solution in a walk-through, it made no sense. I still cannot see any relationship between the symbols I was required to enter, and the grid cipher on the wall.

Thanks, now I see how it works. It's still highly counter-intuitive to me, but I see how it works. Fortunately I've had a much better expeience with the rest of the game, now that I'm getting to understand how it thinks.

I knew it would be 5 entries, cuz reset, but 42513 from the paper would have never occurred to me in a million years (which is how long a brute force key generator would have took) as even viable after being thwarted for 4 hours......Well Played
