Shipwrecks

Anyone know where to find the most shipwreks? Is there a certain place where there is more of them? Or is it just 100% random.

It seems to be randomized, but if you travel away from one along the coast another will come up in a little bit. You can then travel back the way you came and another will respawn around the same place as the original.

just sail near the coast and you will find ship wrecks.

Shipwrecks are preplaced on the map.
They also reset after entering a port and thus resetting open world "mission".

I've "coasted' more than 50% of the map(s). In most cases there are two wrecks for every port. One on either side. In open world mode all of the ports appear as islands when you sail up to them from elsewhere. Some of the wrecks are placed on the coastline of these islands.
