If I choose to reset my save, will I lose purchased things like ship cosmetics? Please read further...
I lost my job. I have more time than I've ever had to play games while I wait for a new job - and I'm interested in this game. I started a while ago, but made little progress. I did however purchase a few things from the in-game real money store, like the ability to cutomizet he paint job on parts of my ship.

If I restart my save, my impresion is that I lose all of that??? Am I correct in this? Because I can't possibly spend more money on this game, and considering I bought mostly cosmetic stuff because that kind of stuff is important to me - it doesnt' seem very fair that I would have to repurchase for real money.

OR, alternatively, am I misremembering and I was able to purchase those items WITHOUT real money - i.e. IN-GAME currency? (Gold) ???

Can anyone please correct my misconception or confirm that I'm right in this? ... This game seems awesome and I love pirates and have yet to find a REAL pirate game that is as great as this seems to be... but I am also not the type who can pick up a game after MONTHS of inactivity and continue like nothing happened.

Am I okay to reset my save? or will i lose all the "quality of life" enhancements that I bought? I don't GAF about the extra gold or anything that I received for buying those real noney items, but it seems some items are MANDATORY to spend real money on ... and that's not possible for me, I'm living off cup-noodles guys... Any insight into what you really lose when you reset your save would be GREATLY appreciated... and I've seen multiple people asking similar questions ignored here and elsewhere on the net. PLEASE provide me some insight =(

Thanks in advance...! Some parts of this game's "help" screen don't elaborate enough for me on such topics... :synchronous:

I think if you reset you can go to the store page and click on reset purchases that's going to give back everything you purchased, though why would you want to reset the save in the first place,I'd say just keep your current save.

I agree if you restart you will have every things you bought but not the competence you have
and not the money needed to carry on
So play a little on a tight budjet spare your valuable ships do a lot of pirate things and you will
be soon on the pirate road again
Good luck

I didn't get far the first time and I wasn't really aware of any of the decisions I was making. I was just screwing up and doing dumb stuff trying to figure the game out. Then I didn't play it for awhile - I'm not the type who can pick up a game, like an RPG for instance, that I have not played in months, and just continue where I left off.

It's all my "personal story" in my head, for me. If I don't remember my past or how I got to where I got, I have trouble caring about the future.

Yes, I do have at leats some form of obsessive compulsive disorder, and no, they wont' give me the pills i want for it. Heh. I just don't want to start when I can't recall why this person hates me, or why that person doesn't - it's like that.

Well, hopefully I'm not out any of the few cosmetic purchases I made, because I'd be pissed, but I guess I'm going to try to reset the save so I can have a truly fresh start... crossing my fingers...

Ok,I see, well hopefully everything you bought will still be there and if it's not you could also contact the devs and ask them about it.

I just restarted because i beat it and wanted to try a few things differently. So I'm speaking from first-hand experience.

- You will lose ships you bought if you don't gift them to a friend and have them gifted back.
- You will not lose other purchases, even if you took advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free deal.
- If you restore purchases in the store and something you had (other then ships) doesn't come back, email the Home Net Games customer support and it will be restored for you in about a day or so.

My paint customization didn't return with my other purchases and after a polite email to them it was returned in a few hours.

Enjoy!

Thanks a LOT man, that's exactly what I wanted to know. I have not played enough to hav any purchased ships, but I did buy some buildings, so I should be okay. I just ... have to do a fresh start after not playing for a long time. Just like games like Skyrim. I have friends who have one character that does EVERYTHING possible... I think that's boring - I want my character to be a fictional character that I created, if that makes sense ... so I tend to have multiple characters over the coarse of my love for a game.

So obviously... I must start a fresh pirate ... so that I can be the pirate I want him to be! ...as much trouble as it is. Thanks a ton, exactly the answer I was looking for (and hoping for...)
Great! And your philosophy makes sense to me! Good luck with the employment thing too!

Haha, good, at least I'm not the only one who really likes to invest their imagination in a video game character :p And thanks! I'm going to be getting unemployment checks soon, and who knows, doing the weekly certifications, I'm aiming high - unlikely to get quite a few of these jobs, but if I do - I might end up with a good career, so much apprecaite the luck!
