Attacking a Town

Do you only get 1000 gold as a one time payment or is it paid every week or...?

only as 1 only payment, you'll have to atack a city each time you want to get 1000 coins

but wait long enough and "the royal navy" will come and liberate the port you captured; which means you can sack it again for 1000gold....I advocate abusing the danes and/or the dutch this way over-and-over again for a nice profit.

Attacking towns is one of the Least effective ways to Earn Gold- You are better off only doing that for Exp, If your after Gold it depends on the number of ships with crews you have, I have 2 Galleons, a Frigate and a Brigatine, and pay somewhere around 275-Ish per pay day. I earn MORE money simply waiting in one of my pirate ports for 2-3 weeks And selling my warehouses entire stock. You easily make about 1000 every 1-2 weeks Per port, if all your buildings are level 3- Ignoreing Incomes per week from the "Tax" buildings. By the time you go from Port to Port the last port will have Twice the ammount to sell as your First port.

In this way every 2 weeks you make about 5K if you have 4 ports, If you ignore incomes from ambushes, You make EASILY 10K Simply Sailing and focusing ONLY on being a Merchant. which is... Alot more worth it that wasteing your Ships trying to Attack towns :)

honestly they should be like the pirate ports you captured, you should be able to get tax from them and get resources from it. I only got 5000 bucks ransom once and then it just get recaptured after after a few weeks and then i have to build relation with that country again. Ransom doesn't change as well because i captured a town with lower tiers and i still get 5000. Btw i have 2 first rates, 1 second rate and a man o'er war.
