how do you get to treaure island

From overview-treasure map-show on map, you will see the treasure island. Sail to the nearest port and access it from open-world (use your compass to sail there). A treasure map is obtained by searching shipwrecks(not all of them have maps), and a small chance from mysterious ships.

I find the mini game could be more fun, it gets really annoying when you reach 3000 gc or so.
