The Pirate: Caribbean Hunt

New Pirate seeking the Lighthouse of truth
Good morning fellow pirates!

Me and my sons are brand new to this game and we have a number of questions. I would appreciate if experienced players could share their wisdom.

1) We have lost several battles so far and sometimes we lose or ship and sometimes not. How does it work? Do you only lose your ship if all your crew is gone? Or can you only lose the "none activelly controlled" ships in your fleet?

2) I notice that you can create a "guild". What does it do in game? Where do you go to join an active guild?

3) There is a game clock. Is the game becoming tougher a the clock goes forward? I am a pretty slow starter so should I have my "discovery" of the game faster before I get overwhelmed? I am still on my first map, testing things before I open the 2nd one (with new ships)

4) I now have two bases. Should I leave a ship, with minimal crew, in the base to protect it in case of attack? How often are those attacks occuring?

5) How can you target specific ship during combat? Where there are several ships around (including my 2nd), sometimes I lose the target on the one I am attacking and it makes it hard to know its damage level. Can we lock a target?

6) Camera...is there a way to lock the camera behind our ship at around 45 degres? Sometimes it seems to work but at other times I am fighting with the camera during combat to see where I am shooting.

That's it for now but I am sure I'll have more questions!

Arrrrrgh!

PS: Forgot to mention, we play on Android (Tablet)

Hi I play on pc but I suppose Android is very similar I suppose; I will try to answer
1 make sure that your ships are upgraded as much as possible Gc permiting
copper lining hard wood rudder sails and all

2 the guild sells the goods you want from your wharehouse

3 yes but it is fairly easy in the begining to get competance

4 yes but minimal crew will only give easy acces to collect your money and trade but storage place for trading
to help defend your base you need a fully upgraded ship and fully maned crew= GC but
if they attach you will have 1 extra ship under your command

5 no targettin allas but use your fleet button to check theyre status a q to change to it
if she is in trouble hte rest is ok the autopilot in the game is quite good they use less
ammo than you and navigate better

get always a better view vhith the well of the mouse or your zoom

6 no the spy glass is good only to look in the distance just play with the distance indicated
by your cannons use only bombs ennemi cannot take it 1 broad side salvo sink up to a
fregate and bigger if it as been damaged by one of your other ships

Thank you for your Arrrrrrgh! and Arrrrgh to you too

To 5: the Ships ALWAYS attack the closest Ships, so you can use a small, fast Ship to attract the Target to your "Battle Ship" Thats the way i mostly use.

No you can't lock on a specifc ship, the single way to check for its damage level is just look at it an you will get the information about it in the top left corner, you can also use the spy glass to get more details about that ship (like the crew number). Also as a tip I suggest you only sail with one ship and not take other ships with you,the AI is pretty bad so if you attack a larger fleet (like the story missions or the tax fleets) they're probably going to lose that ship.

There should be an option in settings to sort of lock the camera in place. You probably have free camera active. Have a look in settings, you're best best for keeping the camera in place is there. Not sure how different the android version will be though.
