The Starborn Return is a visual novel with 2D tower defense gameplay elements, which follows the classic story of a protagonist destined to be a hero who must recover the Star Stone to free a world that has been subjugated to serve as a source of the “stars power” that grants immense abilities.

The game has quite a bit of text, since 50% of it is a visual novel. However, if you don't read it, you won't miss much besides learning more about the game's world.

This game isn't very complex. You can practically play it on autopilot by spamming the keys on your keyboard.
The game is divided into five worlds, each with a boss or heroine that you must defeat to recruit. First, though, you must complete a variety of levels ranging from four to nine.
Each level starts with an energy/mana bar that recharges over time. This bar allows you to deploy "towers" or allied troops that automatically advance toward the enemy to attack it. The goal is to reduce the enemy's health bar to zero. The enemy deploys troops over time as well, turning this into a strategic battle. You must defeat the enemy troops to deal damage.
These "tower" battles feature an interesting mechanic: You can spend energy to increase your maximum energy capacity and regeneration rate. Instead of spamming units, focus on raising your energy limit so you can spam a larger number of units in the mid-stage of the level. This is the best strategy for easily beating the game.
The game also features a wide variety of units that you unlock as you complete levels. You can add these units to your team and adapt it to your play style. For example, you can add cheap units with high attack but low health or expensive units with high health and attack.
Finally, the heroines have their own in-game units with powerful, unique abilities that can be used on cooldown. Additionally, you can use the stars you earn by clearing levels with three stars to level up the heroines. This unlocks the sex scenes and levels up the units you obtained from their worlds, making them deal more damage.

This game features a total of 30 animated sex scenes, which are evenly distributed among the 6 heroines. The quality is good, with high-quality art in most cases, smooth motion animations, as well as quite erotic voice acting and sexual effects, all of which complement each other well.

Gameplay is dull, CGs are short and bland, story is wayyy too long winded and doesn't do anything to enhance the game in any meaningful way. Not to mention the skip text feature is so bad that if you wanted to skip pass something boring you'll probably just skip something you wanted to see with it. This is a 2/10 and the only reason it's not a 0/10 is that the art isn't AI so I'll at least give points for that.
